Concord Pacific had shed more light on the highly anticipated Quantum Park development on the 7.4-acre Molson Brewery Site. The last time we heard about the site was last December 2019. It was speculative that a major development is in the works for the Molson Brewery site. As Concord Pacific is finished its developments on the north side of Granville Bridge, the development giant released a preliminary design for Quantum Park (1550 Burrard Street).

Concord Pacific acquired the site in 2016 for approximately 200 million dollars after Molson Coors Canada announced that they will shut down its Burrard street plant and move to a new brewery in Chilliwack. It is a rational decision given that the massive changing environment that took place in Vancouver with multiple master official community plan. Having a brewery in the middle of a potential multi-family zone will pose many negative impacts economically and livability.

Just recently, Concord Pacific released new renderings for the site. These renderings reveal the details of the massive development planned for the 331,056 sqft site. A glass panel exterior ground level with three distinctive blocks siting on top and another cross-sectional block on top it of the three blocks. The developer is aiming for a total floor area of 1,800,000 sqft. 300,000 sqft will be allocated for office, retail, and restaurant. The remaining square footage is for 3,000 residential units spanning across the 15 to 25 storeys podiums.

Concord Pacific names “Quantum” park because it is inspired by the two-glass atrium that resembles wormholes in quantum science. The funnel design has a glass rooftop accessible from the three podiums. From the rendering we can see the planned greenspace all around. Like all other Concord lead development, it features the latest technology and amenity including electric vehicle parking space, touchless car wash, health clubs and more.

*Quantum Park is still in pre-application stage; no rezoning application has been submitted to date.
